Our story
In old worlds, Rumina was protectress of sleeping babies, a goddess who protected breastfeeding mothers. In our modern world you could say Rumina was akin to a Midwife.
Much like the millions of births that take place across our globe, Rumina was born out of love. Becoming a mother is the most joyous and precious experience, but can also be incredibly overwhelming and isolating. Especially when you get discharged from hospital to your home with little continued support. At Rumina we believe that being able to call on professional support, in the comfort of your home, when you need it, should be accessible by all new mothers. So Rumina has set out to change access to maternity care, one baby at a time.

Danielle
Clinical Midwife, Endorsed Midwife + Avid Gardener and DIY enthusiast .
Hi! My name is Danielle, I am a Fremantle local and mother of two beautiful sons.
I have been a midwife for the last 7 years working in a tertiary hospital. I am an intuitive, compassionate practitioner and during this time I have gained great insight into the maternity system and the gaps in care.
I became an Endorsed midwife to be able to contribute and particularly focus on improving the growing needs for community support of postpartum mothers and their families.
I believe that ongoing support for postpartum families allows them to ease into the journey of parenthood with confidence and love while reducing anxiety and stress.
I am particularly interested in supporting breastfeeding and helping parents to understand normal biological newborn behaviours while fostering deep loving connections with their baby.
I look forward to supporting you through this very important time in your lives.

Emma
Endorsed Midwife, Registered Nurse, Child Health Nurse.
Hi, my name is Emma and I’m a midwife based in Perth, WA.
I have been practicing midwifery for 13 years, in both public and private sectors in three states in Australia. I have a strong passion for a re-focusing in midwifery onto the individualised needs of each woman, baby and family. I am an advocate for evidence based, holistic care rather than policy led care - this is what drove me to become endorsed. I believe in working with families to take them from surviving the newborn days to thriving in them!
I currently balance midwifery work part time with parenting my one year old, travelling as much as I can, and focusing on small pleasures each day - coffee, sunshine, dogs, and a good book.
